What a Deal: Dads Eat Free at Spaghetti Warehouse

For me and my brother, Blake, Dad is always there for us.

Both of us play baseball and, it seems, he’s always there waiting for us – just outside the dugout – giving us his support no matter how we played during the game. The same thing is true with things like our homework; he’s always there to help even if he doesn’t fully understand the assignment or he’s pretty worn out from working all day. We think he’s incredible.

This Father’s Day, we’re going to surprise him and take him and our whole family to Spaghetti Warehouse.

Now, for our family, going out to lunch or dinner is a pretty quick deal because we’re usually on the way to do something and having time to enjoy ourselves is not part of the “schedule”.

This year, Dads Eat Free at Spaghetti Warehouse and we’re going to take the time to really make it all about whatever he wants…and when we go there…he usually wants the ‘Incredible’ 15-Layer Lasagne. While we’re there, Spaghetti Warehouse is having a photo contest and just for submitting a photo of our Incredible Dad, we get a free appetizer for registering and we get a chance to win a whole year of free Lasagne! You can check out more about the photo contest at: www.meatballs.com.

Best of all, you don’t need a coupon. Pretty good plan, right? Dad gets a free meal and an opportunity to really relax knowing that at least for one day…it’s all about him.

I can’t wait. We’ve been telling Dad that we’ve got something special planned for him and not to book a tee time or take a nap until he’s had a chance to spend some time with us.

He just smiles. And, that’s what makes him such a great Dad, he always seems to be wherever he’s needed and he couldn’t be happier than to make it all about you. Happy Dads Day!

Graduation party at the “Warehouse”

When I opened up the mail the other day, I noticed there was an invitation from my good friend, Linda, for her son Billy’s graduation party.

Whatever the occasion, it seems, our group of five “girls” have always stayed in touch with one another. And, we’ve always made it a point to get together and celebrate any time one of our kids has had something special going on, be it a graduation, wedding or baby shower.

But, what caught my attention was the location of the party…it said Spaghetti Warehouse. It surprised me only for the fact that, most years, my friends and I have always had everyone over to the house to celebrate.

A few days after sending back the reply – confirming we would be there – I called Linda to find out more of the details. She said that graduation is such a busy time…so many details to run down, and relatives coming in from out-of-town and out-of-state that it was time to do something a little different.

As she looked around for a place to go, she remembered seeing a message about graduation parties on the Spaghetti Warehouse website and all of the details at:  www.meatballs.com/special/banquets.html

Linda said booking their party was easy. After looking at the banquet menus online, she was able to confirm all of the details for the party by filling out one simple form. She said they had packages designed to fit every taste and their budget, so whether her Uncle Tony wanted the ‘Incredible’ 15-Layer Lasagne or her mother, Alma, wanted a gluten-free Chicken Alfredo, they could get what they want.

Linda said she also ordered a couple of appetizers for everyone to share and each dinner includes a crisp, fresh garden salad and freshly baked sourdough bread along with a soft drink or glass of iced tea. Best of all, she said they’ll be able to celebrate Billy’s graduation with their family and close friends, enjoy some delicious food that’s hot and made fresh and relax all at the same time.

I guess you could say it’s a pretty smart way to go.

New “Made Fresh Daily” Menu: So Much to See, Eat

When it comes to going out to eat, one of our family’s “go to” places is always been Spaghetti Warehouse.

With three growing kids – Matti (14), Michael (…almost 12) and Michelle (9 ½) and my husband, Rick, we’ve always enjoyed gathering around the table together at Spaghetti Warehouse. They always treat us like family and they’ve gotten to know us from all of the times we’ve been there to celebrate a birthday or, like on this night, enjoy a great tasting dinner.

Add to that, they’ve always had a nice selection and what we enjoy most is how fresh the food always tastes to us. And no meal at Spaghetti Warehouse would be complete without the fun we always seem to have “sampling” each other’s food.

Just recently, we decided to head to Spaghetti Warehouse after an especially busy week with school and work. Upon being seated, our server shared with us their new “Made Fresh Daily” menu. She said Spaghetti Warehouse had ‘named’ their menu to remind everyone about the fact that everything they serve is made fresh daily from scratch. If you want to check out the new menu, you can visit their website at: www.meatballs.com.

When we got to thinking about it, there are just not a lot of places out there that take the time to make something for you that’s hot and fresh right out of the kitchen to your table to enjoy.

Even the menu is different. It’s like reading a newspaper with all kinds of stories and interesting tidbits about everything having to do with Spaghetti Warehouse. For instance, did you know that they are looking to serve 1 million Lasagne dinners this year? And, that’s just the start…they have introduced four new gluten-free dinners as part of their regular menu along with a few other dishes.  The selection has never been better and looking at this menu makes it fun to see what all they offer.

With the gluten-free dinners, there is a great variety to choose from, featuring everything from salmon or steak to a nice chicken breast. For me, it was the Spaghetti Pomodoro that caught my attention. A gluten-free spaghetti, it’s tossed with a fresh veggie Pomodoro sauce, mushrooms, spinach and more.

My husband also ordered a new entrée…the Trolley Stop Sirloin and Spaghetti. He’s always enjoyed a good steak, but adding in the spaghetti provided something out of the ordinary for him. Michael’s always been partial to spaghetti, too, and he ordered the Baked Pepperoni Spaghetti. He said he liked the spicy taste and the fresh tomato sauce. The girls stayed with a couple of their favorites, as Matti enjoyed the Grilled Chicken Alfredo while Michelle went with the Cheese Ravioli.

All in all, it was another reason to celebrate being together. Best of all, when the check came, new menu and everything, Spaghetti Warehouse is still one of the best values you’ll find for feeding a family some delicious food at a price that’s reasonable. Try it out…who knows, maybe Spaghetti Warehouse will be your family’s “go to” place?

“Meatball Madness” Takeout Special: It’s a Game changer (for your appetite)

Late March, early April…there always seems to be some kind of “madness” that grabs our attention.

You know what I’m talking about. We gather around the TV, the water cooler at work or the friendly confines of our living room and we debate endlessly what we believe will be the outcome of a certain basketball tournament.

This year, you might even say we had a billion reasons for celebrating the madness as never before. It’s the perfect time to invite a couple dozen of your closest friends and family members over to the house and enjoy some takeout.

This year, our family hosted a big get-together to watch the endless stream of back-to-back-to-back basketball games. To make it through all the action, we decided to call on our favorite restaurant, Spaghetti Warehouse, to experience some “Meatball Madness” and take advantage of their takeout special – 20 hand-rolled, succulent meatballs for just $24.

OK, I know what you’re saying. Meatballs? But, believe me; the way Spaghetti Warehouse makes their delicious meatballs, these things could represent their own food group! We were looking over their new menu and we discovered that Spaghetti Warehouse hand rolls 10,000 meatballs fresh from scratch every day. And, talk about delicious. It’s the perfect appetizer for whatever type of party or celebration you’re planning.

A ‘Spaghetti Warehouse’ meatball is made with the freshest beef and pork and is oven–baked with onions, garlic, Romano cheese, olive oil, tomatoes and beef stock and it is blended together with the right mix of seasonings. Of course, no Spaghetti Warehouse hand-rolled meatball would be complete without a side of “made fresh daily” tomato sauce that comes with your order. Also, be sure to ask for traditional or spicy; you will not be disappointed.

From now through April 7th, you can call in a meatball order “to go” and they’ll have it ready in time for tip-off. Visit their website – www.meatballs.com – for the Spaghetti Warehouse Restaurant location near you. And, then sit back and enjoy the “Meatball Madness”. I promise you it will be a game changer!

“Winter Games Weekend Family Feast for 4” Offers Lots of Delicious Food, Great Value

If your family is anything like ours, you are SO over winter. Am I right?

After all, regardless of where you call home, I bet you’ve experienced enough ‘winter’ to last until next season. Or, if snow shoveling or sliding down your driveway (or the highway) ever becomes a competitive sport, you might make it to a place like Sochi!

Instead, my husband, Jack and I along with our two boys, Ryan and Cameron, are already planning ahead this weekend and trading in our cabin fever for a trip to Spaghetti Warehouse for their Winter Games Weekend Family Feast for 4 for just $30.

According to their website – www.meatballs.com – the Winter Games Weekend Family Feast for 4 is being offered from Friday, Feb. 21st through Sunday, Feb. 23rd and it’s an unbelievably great deal. The ‘family feast’ includes two servings each of their ‘Incredible’ 15-Layer Lasagne, Chicken Parmigiana and Fettuccine Alfredo and it is served – family style – on their very large family-size platters. It also includes the choice of soup or salad for four and plenty of their fresh sourdough bread for everyone to enjoy. And, all of this delicious food is just $30, or about the cost of paying your neighbor kid to clear off your driveway and sidewalks a couple of times while you take advantage of this great deal!

What’s more, whether your family is a tight-knit foursome, or a party of 8, Spaghetti Warehouse is a great place to go with large parties because there is always lots of room to celebrate every occasion.

Another reason Spaghetti Warehouse is so appealing is that you know you’re getting plenty of food as part of your meal. And, with the Family Feast you’ll be able to sample three different entrees and more. That’s sure to melt away your winter blues. See you there!

Valentine’s Day Dinner for Two – A Sweetheart of a Deal

The best part of enjoying a nice dinner with someone who’s close to us is the opportunity it provides for us to relax and take it easy…if only for a little while.

OK, sure, it sounds like a cliché, but think about it…when you have the chance to really get away – for even an hour or two – it’s amazing how much better we can feel about whatever it is we’re doing with our everyday lives.

That’s why I like Valentine’s Day.  Yes, Valentine’s Day. Because while the rest of the world is scrambling to find the perfect card or fretting over floral arrangements, I’ve made that day a celebration  — and something of a tradition – by enjoying a nice dinner out. Sometimes, it’s with a close friend; other times it’s been with one of my kids or my husband, Greg.

This year, I’m going to Spaghetti Warehouse. The other day, I received an e-mail about a “Valentine’s Day Dinner for Two”  special that includes two entrees, an appetizer and a dessert to share, along with your choice of a garden salad or a cup of soup and their fresh sourdough bread – a complete dinner for two for $34.99.

It’s a great deal, made even better by the experience and the atmosphere that we always enjoy while we’re there. The service is very good and the wait staff makes us feel right at home. And, no matter how busy it is, I’m able to have a nice dinner conversation…fun and relaxing all at the same time.

While you’re there, you can even enter a photo contest they’re hosting on their website (from now through Feb. 16th) – www.meatballs.com. You can take a selfie of the two of you at Spaghetti Warehouse and once you register for the contest and upload a photo, you’ll receive a coupon for a free appetizer. I hear they’re giving away a $200 gift card!

The ‘dinner for two’ is being offered all weekend long from Valentine’s Day on Friday Feb. 14th through Monday, Feb. 17th.  Who knows? I may have to double up on my celebration with another one of my friends or family. Of course, they’ll love it…it’s Valentine’s Day!

12 Days of Giving - An opportunity to share with others

Around this time of year, it’s always nice to take a break from shopping or, for that matter, anything else we’re doing in anticipation of family get-togethers during the holidays.

It’s also the time of year when we are encouraged to think of others and what they might need just to get through the holidays. And, I was reminded of that – in a very good way – while having lunch recently at Spaghetti Warehouse.

From time to time, a few of us at work get together at Spaghetti Warehouse to catch up over lunch. We love the fresh salad and baked sourdough bread that comes with each entrée. After we were seated, our server told us about the “12 Days of Giving”. She said that from Dec. 12th through the 23rd, Spaghetti Warehouse is donating a portion of the proceeds from every appetizer and dessert sold in its restaurants to a local food bank.

She explained that the goal is to help provide 30,000 meals to local food banks across the country in each of the communities in which Spaghetti Warehouse has locations. We thought…what a great idea! Since there were eight of us in our group, we looked through their menu and ordered three appetizers along with our lunch and to top it all off, each of us ordered a dessert.

Best of all, we are able to help someone in our community enjoy a good, hot meal. It makes the experience of going to Spaghetti Warehouse even better knowing that they want to do their part – with our help – to take care of others.

Talk about comfort food…it’s one of the better gifts all of us can provide someone this holiday season.

Holiday gift card offer creates opportunity to shop while you dine

When it comes to holiday traditions, gift cards have become the popular choice that everyone seems to enjoy.

And, whether you’re giving the gift or receiving it, it’s easy…no worrying about sizes, styles or colors. What’s more, it provides the perfect opportunity to go shopping or, in our case, enjoy a great tasting lunch or dinner.

That’s because, this year, we did some of our holiday shopping at Spaghetti Warehouse and purchased a few of their holiday gift cards and, as a result, we received an extra “present” with each card we purchased.

My sisters, Annie and Emily, and I got together for lunch this weekend (while shopping, of course…) and our server shared with us the details about their holiday gift card offer. With each $25 gift card, we would get five Pasta Bucks that we can use to enjoy even more of the delicious food they’re known for…from their ‘Incredible’ 15-Layer Lasagne to any of their fantastic spaghetti or pasta dishes. Best of all, you always feel as though you get a complete meal, and it comes with your choice of a soup or garden salad and the fresh baked sourdough bread that comes with every entrée.

After looking over our shopping lists, we purchased a total of five $25 gift cards and we received 25 Pasta Bucks to share with our family. Who knew that you could go shopping while you’re having lunch? But, that’s exactly what we did. We crossed a few more items off our shopping list while spending some time with family and enjoying food that’s always appetizing regardless of what you choose.

Not finished with your holiday shopping? Take it from me and go to Spaghetti Warehouse. You’ll get a gift for someone to enjoy and if you time it right, you’ll have the perfect excuse to treat yourself!

Combo Meals ‘Perfect Match’ for Hungry Family’s Appetite

With three teenagers, one of the “challenges”, you might say, we have when going out for a nice lunch or dinner is finding a great value that satisfies our kid’s growing appetites.

Buffets aren’t appealing to us…it’s almost too much food at any price. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t enjoy a good, home-cooked meal that happily fills you up. In fact, sometimes even the best meals are enjoyed just as much – the next day – as leftovers.

The other night, we were downtown and decided to have dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse. It was kind of chilly outside and the idea of warming up a bit with some nice hot, Italian food sounded like a good idea.

Our server asked if we had heard about their new “Perfect Match Amore Combos”. She explained to us that for $12 we could pick one of their most popular entrees and “pair it” with a second entrée (they called it a “perfect mate”…). What’s more, the combo included our choice of a fresh garden salad or soup and their fresh sourdough bread. The choices were almost overwhelming, we could choose from their 15-Layer Lasagne, Chicken Parmigiana, Grilled Chicken Alfredo or their Spaghetti and Meatballs and add a serving of either Meat or Cheese Ravioli , Four Cheese Manicotti, Pepperoni Mac n’ Cheese or Baked Penne.

I went for Grilled Chicken Alfredo and Manicotti. Our son, Daniel, ordered the Lasagne and he was all over the Pepperoni Mac n’ Cheese while our other kids, Emily and Donovan, chose different combinations involving the Spaghetti and Meatballs. My husband, Tim, decided on the Chicken Parmigiana and Ravioli. With the salads and bread, we couldn’t have enjoyed a better meal together.

Of course, there was a fair amount of sharing as well. And, just when you thought we couldn’t fit in another bite, a couple of us ordered one of their “sweet treats”. Emily tried the Vanilla Bean Cannoli and Tim had to try the Pecan Apple Cranberry Bread Pudding. The desserts tasted great and were definitely worth the extra $3.

When the check came, Tim was happy.  And, because we each had some food to take home, I was happy knowing I wouldn’t have to fix lunch the next day. All in all, Spaghetti Warehouse had it right…it was a perfect match and we loved it, right down to the last enjoyable bit of Mac n’ Cheese. Right, Daniel??

Holiday party platters - ideal for the “I don’t want to cook” crowd

As the holiday season approaches, for those of us who are in charge of cooking lunch or dinner, there is always the task (hassle?) of figuring out the meal and deciding who is bringing what food. It’s like having to be the air traffic controller at someone’s house to figure out all of the arrangements, not to mention the power needed for all the plug-ins.

This year, our family – including me, my two sisters and our brother – decided to skip the cooking part and order out. But, because we love to eat, we wanted to find a place that could offer some great tasting food – and lots of it – without feeling as though we spent too much for the convenience of not having to…cook.

After looking around at all of the options, we discovered the holiday party platters at Spaghetti Warehouse. In looking at their website – www.meatballs.com – we found that they have the right type of menu to fit our budget. After all, we’re feeding a small army of adults and kids of all ages, whose appetites run from picky to a few of us who really enjoy the experience of eating a little more than usual as we figure out what’s for dessert.

For our family, we were able to order a half-pan of their Incredible 15-Layer Lasagne, alongside enough spaghetti and Fettuccini Alfredo to provide everyone with an entrée. Add to that, we purchased a few quarts of their Wedding and Minestrone soups and plenty of their fresh garden salad with Italian dressing. Of course, no dinner at Spaghetti Warehouse would be complete without their toasted Garlic bread and a few loaves of their fresh Sourdough bread. We even included a dozen extra meatballs and some sauce, you know, just in case!

And, it wouldn’t be a true family get-together without dessert. Spaghetti Warehouse finished up our order in delicious fashion with several pieces of Tiramisu and a special price on 12 servings of their Pecan Apple Cranberry Bread Pudding.

We got a holiday bonus, too. For spending $100 on our holiday platters, we got $20 in Pasta Bucks that we can spend on our next visit to the Warehouse. It was really a nice perk. And ordering was really made easy by the good folks at the restaurant. Not only did we get a complete dinner for our big family, we got a great value. And best of all? No one has to…cook!!

And maybe that’s the best gift of all.
